Independents Day – 8th July, Birmingham National Motorcycle Museum
Since 2005, Independents Day has been a key event for independent optical practitioners, emphasizing the need for both clinical and commercial skills. It focuses on commercial awareness and business development to help practitioners thrive. The event ensures that patients receive the best care by supporting business success. Lectures offer practical tips and ideas that can be implemented immediately, often at little or no cost.
Scottish Optical Conference – 17th November, Glasgow Radisson Blu Hotel
SOC is a cutting-edge conference showcasing the latest in Optometry, Ophthalmology, Dispensing, Contact lenses, and Business/Marketing. Led by Dr Scott Mackie and Dr Roisin Mackie, who are renowned for their successful events, SOC is the largest optical exhibition in Scotland and the second largest in the UK, featuring over 50 exhibitors.
Planned Development Work
Here are the projects we are actively working on:
Online Appointments System: We are in the final stages of development and are currently beta-testing the first phase in live practices. Once this phase is successfully completed, we will offer this facility to a select number of other practices.
eGOS Domiciliary & GOS5 Claims: This feature is nearing completion and will be included in an upcoming version.
Docmail Integration for Optipost: We are simplifying the link between Optisoft and Docmail to eliminate the need for the printer driver.
Direct Debits Module: This module will automate monthly payments for items such as contact lens supply, patient loyalty schemes, and spreading the cost of high-end dispenses. Phase 1 is expected to be ready for beta testing in the next version.
