iPad Creates Extra Terminal In Smallest Practice
January 5, 2011
Creating an extra IT terminal in one the country’s smallest practices seemed impossible until Optisoft looked to the latest technology - the handheld Apple iPad.

“We literally could not fit another terminal into our Yealmpton practice, in Devon, but we did need one. Having just one terminal was very restrictive but the iPad works a treat. This solution from Optisoft is superb,” said Daryl Newsome, Practice Owner, Newsome Opticians.

Practice Manager, Christine Jago, agreed –

“I wanted to have something on the dispensing desk for booking appointments but it is so much more that just that. It can be used in the optometrist’s room or anywhere when the other terminal is in use. It is so portable and easy. In fact, a big terminal can be quite a barrier on the desk and intimidating but this is very user-friendly. I like to use it to access online catalogues, particularly showing frames to customers and the colour options which care available from the various suppliers. I can also take it home to update notes in the evening it is so mobile.

“It also took just a few minutes to set up - We may be a very small practice but we are very up to date. The patients are very impressed!” said Christine.
